Terms of
Service
These terms govern your access to and use of the Polari API, Digestr, and all associated services operated by Polari Technologies LLC. Please read them carefully.
01 — Acceptance
Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using any service provided by Polari Technologies LLC ("Polari," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using our services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
If you do not agree to these terms, you may not access or use our services.
These terms apply to all products including the Polari API (polariapi.com), Digestr (digestr.ai), Eventide, and any other services we make available under the Polari Technologies brand.
02 — Services
Description of Services
Polari provides semantic intelligence infrastructure, including:
- The Polari API — a multi-layer news and text processing platform providing embeddings, entity extraction, story clustering, and relationship graph generation
- Digestr — a consumer news aggregation application powered by the Polari intelligence layer
- Eventide — an event intelligence and monitoring platform
- Associated developer tools, documentation, and support services
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our services at any time with reasonable notice where possible.
03 — Accounts & Access
Accounts and API Keys
To access the Polari API, you must register for an account and receive an API key. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys and account credentials
- All activity occurring under your account or API key
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use at security@polaritechnologies.com
- Ensuring the accuracy of account information you provide
API keys may not be shared, resold, or transferred without our written consent. Each key is issued for a specific use case and tier. Using a key for undisclosed purposes or on behalf of undisclosed third parties is a breach of these terms.
04 — Acceptable Use
What You May and May Not Do
You may use our services to build applications, conduct research, develop products, or analyze information, subject to these terms and applicable law.
You may not use our services to:
- Generate, distribute, or facilitate the spread of disinformation, spam, or synthetic media designed to deceive
- Surveil, track, or target individuals without their knowledge or consent
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
- Attempt to reverse engineer, extract, or replicate our models, embeddings, or clustering algorithms
- Circumvent or abuse rate limits through proxy services, key sharing, or other means
- Build applications that are directly competitive with Polari's core API offerings without disclosure
- Access data you are not authorized to access or attempt to breach the security of our systems
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these provisions without prior notice.
05 — Intellectual Property
Ownership and Licenses
All technology underlying the Polari platform — including our four-layer processing architecture, clustering algorithms, quality scoring systems, and constellation graph models — is proprietary to Polari Technologies LLC.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use our API outputs for the purposes described in your account registration and tier agreement.
You retain ownership of any content or data you submit to our services for processing. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the services you have requested.
API outputs — including embeddings, entity data, cluster assignments, and graph data generated by the Polari pipeline — may be incorporated into your products subject to these terms. You may not claim ownership of our underlying models or resell raw API output as a standalone data product without an enterprise agreement.
06 — Your Data
Data You Submit
When you submit content to the Polari API for processing, we handle it as described in our Privacy Policy. In summary:
- We process submitted content to return the intelligence you requested
- We do not sell your submitted content to third parties
- We may retain processed metadata to improve our models, unless you have opted out at the enterprise tier
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to submit any content you send to our services
For enterprise customers, data handling terms including retention periods, opt-outs, and deletion rights are governed by the applicable Data Processing Agreement.
07 — Billing & Payments
Subscriptions and Fees
Paid services are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge your payment method for all fees incurred.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
- Overages beyond your plan's included API calls are billed at the published overage rate
- Annual plans are billed upfront and are non-refundable except where required by law
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers
- Failed payments may result in service suspension after a 7-day grace period
To cancel, you may do so at any time through your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months.
08 — Termination
Suspension and Termination
Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately and without notice if:
- You materially breach these terms and fail to cure within 5 days of written notice
- You engage in activity we determine poses a legal, security, or reputational risk
- We are required to do so by law or regulatory order
- Your account shows signs of fraudulent activity or abuse
Upon termination, your right to access the services ends. Provisions relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution survive termination.
09 — Liability
Limitation of Liability
Our services are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Polari Technologies LLC's total liability for any claims arising from or related to these terms or our services shall not exceed the fees you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
These terms are governed by the laws of the state of Delaware, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except where prohibited by law.
